Buying or selling used
DraftWhat to check before buying or selling a used Onyx: frame and motor numbers, pack age, brakes, and wiring.
Before you buy
- Find the frame number (etched under the rear seat down tube) and the motor number (etched on the hub motor side cover, starting after the W). Ask for both.
- Ask for the model year and pack. The 2020 pack is rated for 800 charge cycles.
- Check the rear rotor and caliper, the hub motor wiring and zip ties, and the throttle housing for damage.
- Ask whether the bike is stock, since modification voids the warranty.
- Ask for service records. The manual tells shops to keep them for the next owner.
